Our Mission

"to support our forwarder customer base by providing our airline partners as key capacity providers"

  About Us

Wexco provides its airline principals with an all-embracing cargo marketing and revenue collection function, replacing the carrier’s fixed overhead of an in-house cargo function with a variable cost which is related wentireley to revenue produced.

Wexco provides online and value added services to the freight forwarding industry.  Wexco aims to provide a "one-stop-shop" solution specifically orientated to the freight forwarding industry sector.

Wexco is not an airfreight forwarder, and its only dealing with commercial houses are when handling inquiries on behalf of the airlines it represents. Wexco can therefore offer its airline principal and their agent customers the reassurance of a totally neutral service from a non-competitive operator.

 Operations

Reservations
Wexco will operate dedicated telephone lines as required, answering in airline name, in order to ensure the promotion of the airline's individual identity.

Post Flight Information
Wexco can automatically provide post-flight information for all shipments. This facility was originally introduced as part of the program to develop JAT’s profile in Australia, but has since proven such a valuable selling point that it is now offered as an integral part of our representation package.

Tracing and Claims
Wexco prides itself on its exhaustive enquiry system for delayed or missing cargo. This has proven popular with agent customers, who know they receive first-rate attention. Wexco would look to provide a hyperlink from its web, used by the agents to the client's system for on-line track and trace of cargo.

Where claims are made, these will be dealt with professionally and promptly. We will assist the airline's central claims department with full reports as required.

Invoicing
If and when required, invoices can be raised either in the airline's name or in Wexco’s. Wexco will maintain prompt billing for all cargo carried where an invoice is required.

CASS
Wexco is a member of CASS and represents airlines within CASS. Wexco ensures the best interest of airlines is communicated at all meetings. Wexco has been a regular participant of CASS meetings and is in receipt of all CASS SITA messages concerning day-to-day operations in relation to the agents.

Upon receipt of CASS accounts, Wexco will check to ensure all waybills are correctly billed and payment into the customer's account has been made properly. The original copies of all CASS reports will be forwarded in hard copy or electronic format and any situation requiring amendments will be clearly identified.

Revenue Accounting
Wexco provides monthly computer reports supplying information on bookings detailing agent, air waybill number, flight, date, origin, destination, IATA or CASS charges, agreed freight charges, handling charges, collect disbursements, commission total due. Wexco’s total accounting service will reduce airline involvement to checking monthly statements of revenue and commission before funds are transferred.

Air Waybill Stock Control
Wexco distributes waybill stock to all accepted IATA/CASS agents throughout Australia in consultation with the airline, and will provide regular reports on stock in-hand/distributed/used and unused.

Handling
Wexco will, on request, supervise the setting up of all necessary arrangements for receiving and transport throughout Australia, and for handling at departure airport.

By taking extra care with accuracy of flight panning Wexco has generally found that ramp-side presence is an unnecessary expense; however, this resource can be provided if required. Wexco has developed a professional working relationship with the various companies that provide airline handling in Australia; Qantas, Virgin and Australian Air Express. We have been able to ensure proper loading of booked freight by working in conjunction with these handlers.

Pre-Flight Liaison

Wexco will pre-advise the first point of arrival airport office, or nominated alternate, of the amount of cargo planned for each flight. A copy of this report will also be sent to the receiving station. Wexco also sends a message to the ground handling’s load assembly unit to advise of what cargo and equipment is to be loaded on that particular service.

Sixth Freedom Traffic

Wexco is highly experienced in dealing with large volumes of sixth freedom cargo changing flights at the principal’s hub. A simple four-point discipline ensures that such traffic is dealt with as efficiently as possible, and that the agent confidence in the hub is boosted. This is the proven system which will be operated on all flights:

  • Wexco establishes booking with your central hub reservation department through use of your computer reservations system or via fax/email

  • On the day before onward departure, messages are sent to your central reservations and airport operations confirming relevant details of consignment(s).

  • Wexco checks on computer or if not available requests confirmation from the hub’s operations department of on-forwarding or off-load.

  • After flight, Wexco sends advice to all agents confirming departure or, in the case of off-loads, the proposed new flight details.

Statistics

If required, Wexco provides a comprehensive monthly analysis of shipments, weights and volumes to each destination, showing year-on-year performance.
